HEALTH IS WEALTH

I felt so relieved after receiving the result of my APE (Annual Physical Exam) this morning. Everything was normal except for some recommendation for dental visit and corrective lenses. I was a bit worried particularly with my ECG result since I'm always experiencing chest pain & palpitation. Thank God 'coz my heart is well with no trace of enlargement, disorder or abnormality.

But then I decided just now to really watch my diet & lifestyle. I've read a lot of tips from various health & wellness experts from the internet, magazines & books. And I'm really decided to follow it strictly. After all, I strongly believe that "health indeed is wealth" and that "prevention is better than cure". So let's all stay healthy and happy.

(BTW.. I'm going to share some health & wellness tips on my upcoming post, just watch out for it)

JennyL's BLOG MENTIONED IN INQUIRER

My sis bestfriend JennyL's blog was mentioned in the Philippine Daily Inquirer last April 17, 2009 issue. It was because of her post regarding Charice Pempengco singing the American National Anthem at Dodgers Opening in US.

Here is the actual clippings..
Image Hosted by ImageShack.us
It was also posted in the Phil. Daily Inquirer website

She was really happy and honored considering that it was just a short article. She was also thankful to the writer Pocholo Concepcion for mentioning her blog.

Her family must be really proud of her.

THE GOD OF MIRACLES

Another miracle had happened in our family. Last March 23, my mom suddenly lost her vision on her left eye. And since her right eye was damaged by cataract, it was really a heartbreaking situation for all of us. We rushed her to an Eye Specialist who broke the bad news that her left eye's nerve in retina suffered a major breakdown, which means according to him could no longer see. We decided to schedule her cataract operation on her right eye ASAP (last April 1). My mom was so afraid to have an operation before but she has no choice this time or else she will be blind for the rest of her life. That's what I've been telling her over and over just to give her an encouragement. And I'm thankful to God that her operation turned out to be a successful one.

But then I remember sharing my mom the story of Bartimaeus in the Holy Bible. He was a blind man whose faith has healed him and were able to see after Jesus Christ healing. I told her not to loose hope on her left eye, that we just have to trust Him and believe that "All things are possible with God". And just as it was a sudden loss, He can also bring it back in a snap.

And it came to pass last Tuesday morning when my mom woke up. She was so happy and teary eyed when she broke the great good news to all of us that God had brought back her left eyesight. God is really the God of Miracles. And He is really faithful and merciful.

All Praises to Him!

WW - PEACEFUL

I chose this very peaceful view for my Wordless Wednesday entry simply because I am now at peace with myself. My last entry was a gloomy sunset, but now it's very calming and relaxing.

Photo was taken from the Manila Bay around 5:55 PM.

OVERWHELMING

Last Sunday's Church Service was one of the most overwhelming experience I've ever had in my whole Christian life. My churchmates warm welcome broke me into tears specially when they told me that they missed me so much. I was absent for 2 weeks and I wasn't able to attend our Summer Camp last Holy Week because I had to take care of my mother. I really thought that they wouldn't understand my situation. But seeing them smiling with warm hugs and kisses, took away whatever anguish I've had for the past few days.

But of course my Pastor explained that it should not happen again. Our service to God still should be our first priority regardless of any circumstances. Whatever comes our way, we should always seek for help to God and don't just lean on our own understanding. And that's exactly what happened to me. I thought I can do and plan for my own. I should have prayed more and exerted a lot of effort. "God will make a way" if we'll only let Him lead our way. I guess that's my biggest lesson this Holy Week Season.

Nevertheless, I count myself so blessed to have a spiritual family whom I can really depend on. And I thanked God for all of them.

FERDIE'S HOUSE BLESSING

My grade school classmate and friend Ferdie had his house blessing yesterday. He invited us as early as December last year so it's really a must to attend this special occasion or else..

This is his great achievement.. wow!
Ferdie & his wife
I wasn't able to hear Ferdie's speech during the actual house blessing but our other classmates told me that he's a bit teary eyed.

Well, with this great accomplishment, who would not be overwhelmed.

Kudos to you Ferdie..
It's good to see him again after sooo many years. I guess he's also glad upon seeing us 'coz he invited us again in December. He'll be back for work in Dubai on Sunday.

Good luck to you and more power.. God bless!

WW - GLOOMY SUNSET

I have always love to look at the sunset. It gives me a different kind of feeling. But looking at this one, it seems that it also sympathize with what I'm feeling right now. Gloomy and depressed.. I don't know when it will last. Am really trying hard to get away with it.

May God help me.

A FACEBOOK

You Are Facebook

You are social, outgoing, and excited to connect to your friends.

You are interested in your friends' lives, and you enjoy adding your opinion to the mix.

While you enjoy sharing online, you don't want everyone to know your business.

You value your privacy. Your life is an open book to those you know but not to strangers.

Are You Facebook, MySpace, or Twitter?

So.. I'm a Facebook.. Well, that's actually what this blog things test says about.

I do love to connect to some friends online, link them in my blog, know more about them and compliment them whenever I find their post inspiring, amusing or useful.

But I'm also choosy when it comes to the theme of a certain blog. I don't just connect with other sites which I find not appropriate to be linked in my site.

My blog has become an open book I guess.. But of course I still value my privacy, in the sense that I only share at least 1/3 of what's happening in my life. The rest, I choose to keep it to myself.

PRAISE AMIDST DIFFICULTIES

I was a bit worried last night. I thought of reading at least one chapter in the Holy Bible. I was very tired and sleepy for the past few days of taking care of my mom yet I felt that I need to have an encouragement and be enlightened. I prayed to God to speak to me thru His words and it randomly opened in Psalms 34, which I think was really meant for my troubled mind.

Praise for Deliverance from Troubles

1. I will bless the LORD at all times: His praise shall continually be in my mouth.
2. My soul shall make her boast in the LORD: the humble shall hear thereof, and be glad.
3. O magnify the LORD with me, and let us exalt His name together.
4. I sought the LORD, and He heard me, and delivered me from all my fears.
5. They looked unto Him, and were lightened: and their faces were not ashamed.
6. This poor man cried, and the LORD heard him, and saved him out of all his troubles.
7. The angel of the LORD encampeth round about them that fear Him, and delivereth them.
8. O taste and see that the LORD is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in Him.
9. O fear the LORD, ye his saints: for there is no want to them that fear Him.
10. The young lions do lack, and suffer hunger: but they that seek the LORD shall not want any good thing.
11. Come, ye children, hearken unto me: I will teach you the fear of the LORD.
12. What man is he that desireth life, and loveth many days, that he may see good?
13. Keep thy tongue from evil, and thy lips from speaking guile.
14. Depart from evil, and do good; seek peace, and pursue it.
15. The eyes of the LORD are upon the righteous, and His ears are open unto their cry.
16. The face of the LORD is against them that do evil, to cut off the remembrance of them from the earth.
17. The righteous cry, and the LORD heareth, and delivereth them out of all their troubles.
18. The LORD is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit.
19. Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the LORD delivereth him out of them all.
20. He keepeth all his bones: not one of them is broken.
21. Evil shall slay the wicked: and they that hate the righteous shall be desolate.
22. The LORD redeemeth the soul of his servants: and none of them that trust in Him shall be desolate.

Now that my mom had just undergone a successful cataract operation, I can only say that God never really break His promises. I want to thank Him and praise Him for never leaving us in times of troubles and difficulties.

I also want to thank everyone.. our friends, colleagues, churchmates and relatives who have prayed for my mom. Thank you so much from the bottom of my heart.

God bless you!
